Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Geotechnical Expert to support large-scale civil and transportation infrastructure projects in Germany. The role involves leading geotechnical investigations, interpreting soil and rock mechanics data, and providing design recommendations for foundations, tunnels, slopes, and retaining structures in urban transport environments.
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct and oversee geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing programs
– Analyze subsurface conditions and provide input on design solutions for roads, railways, bridges, and tunnels
– Collaborate with structural, civil, and environmental teams during project design and construction
– Review geotechnical reports, calculations, and drawings to ensure compliance with German and international codes
– Participate in risk assessments and support mitigation planning for geotechnical hazards
– Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
– 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering within civil or transportation sectors
– In-depth knowledge of soil-structure interaction, foundation systems, and tunneling impacts
– Familiarity with Eurocode standards and German engineering practices
– Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
– Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering; postgraduate qualifications in geotechnics preferred
– Proficiency in geotechnical software tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or equivalent)
