Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced OHS Expert to oversee and implement occupational health and safety programs on a major energy infrastructure project in Nepal. The role requires developing safety strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to international and local HSE standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and site-specific HSE plans
– Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
– Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for project staff and contractors
– Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
– Liaise with project management, contractors, and authorities to promote a strong safety culture
– Maintain comprehensive HSE records and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
– 10+ years of experience in occupational health and safety on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
– Strong knowledge of international safety standards (e.g., IFC, World Bank EHS Guidelines)
– Prior experience working on hydropower or energy projects in South Asia is preferred
– Certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification
– Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills
– Degree in Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field
