Job Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Tunnel Expert to support the planning, design, and execution of complex tunnel systems as part of large-scale energy infrastructure projects in Australia. The role involves providing technical oversight, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and contributing to the successful delivery of tunneling works within scope and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee all tunneling activities including feasibility studies, design review, and construction supervision
– Ensure adherence to tunneling standards and practices aligned with Australian and international codes
– Provide technical input on tunnel boring machines (TBM), ground treatment methods, and support systems
– Coordinate with civil, structural, and geotechnical teams to integrate tunnel design into the broader project
– Monitor safety, risk, and quality throughout tunneling operations
– Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
– 15+ years of experience in tunnel design and construction, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector
– Proven experience with large-diameter tunneling projects using mechanized and conventional methods
– Strong knowledge of TBM technologies, geotechnical analysis, and tunnel lining systems
– Familiarity with Australian tunneling regulations and standards is highly desirable
– Excellent leadership, communication, and project coordination skills
– Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; postgraduate specialization in tunneling or geotechnics is a plus
