Job Description:
We are seeking a Tunnel Expert to join a high-profile transportation infrastructure program in the UAE. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in tunnel engineering to support the design and construction of road, rail, or metro tunnels. This role involves close coordination with civil and geotechnical teams, as well as oversight of contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality tunneling operations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide technical leadership in the design, assessment, and construction of transportation tunnels
– Review geotechnical reports and contribute to tunnel alignment optimization
– Oversee tunnel construction activities including NATM, TBM, and cut-and-cover methods
– Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
– Collaborate with project managers, design consultants, and site teams
– Contribute to risk assessments, mitigation planning, and value engineering reviews
Requirements:
– 15+ years of experience in tunnel design and construction within civil or transportation sectors
– Strong background in tunneling methods for urban infrastructure (rail/road/metro)
– Proven track record of working on large-scale international projects, ideally in the Middle East
– Familiarity with international design codes and UAE construction regulations
– Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
– Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications in tunneling or geotechnical engineering preferred
